San’s Dumplings at Kemmeter Wines is Officially Open!

Back on January 9th, we had the opportunity to attend the “soft opening” of San’s Dumplings at Kemmeter Winery.  We were customer #2.

Kemmeter is of course Johannes Reinhardt’s winery located on Rt 14 in Penn Yan about 10 miles south of Geneva, N.Y.  He has recently had a production building constructed and added a kitchen area to it.   His lovely wife Imelda, a great chef, has opened a dumpling business (as of Thursday Jan 30th).  She is offering three types of dumplings: Pork with wild caught Shrimp, Organic Chicken, and Tofu.  You may buy the dumplings separately or as part of a meal. Meal options include rice, salad or both. Spicy or regular sauce is included.

The business is called San’s Dumplings because San San is Imelda’s Chinese name.  Since San San is a brand in Kemmeter’s wine portfolio, Johannes and Imelda decided to go with simply ‘San’.

To wine taste at Kemmeter, you must have an appointment (email Johannes at customerservice@kemmeterwines.com ) but you can walk in anytime during regular business hours and order them to go.  All the dumplings are made by Imelda,  all from scratch and high quality fresh ingredients, she finishes them off as orders are taken.

The official opening is this week,  January 30th.  For now, hours will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11:30 am until they are gone. Closed Sundays.  You can call ahead for order pickup or order when you get there.
